PROJECTS

The scope of the project is to:
a) ensure the effective operation of the Genetic Resources Bank, including the regeneration, enrichment and evaluation of genetic resources conserved in the form of seeds.
b) safeguard the Conservation Collections of fruit tree, grapevine and other perennial plant varieties, complement these collections with additional plant material in order to conserve, and complete missing varietal descriptions for the respective plant species;.
c) renew the grapevine variety collection.
d) collect new indigenous, unimproved varieties and register them in the relevant catalogues and
e) establish mother plants for most of the species for which ELGO-Dimitra acts as maintainer.
