Dr. Katerina Grigoriadou serves as a Principal Researcher at the Institute of Plant Breeding and Genetic Resources (IPBGR) of HAO-DEMETER, specializing in plant tissue culture and the propagation of species of Greek flora. She graduated from the Department of Agriculture at Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and achieved a PhD in biotechnology from the Department of Biology at the same university. She has over 20 years of experience in the production of elite plant propagation material using biotechnological methods. For 15 years, she worked as a production manager and head of the R&D department at a major private nursery company. She has also worked as an independent research consultant in the agricultural sector and taught at ATHEITh and MAICh (postgraduate level) for many years. Since 2017, she has been the head of the propagation/tissue culture laboratory at IPBGR, and from 2024, she assumed administrative responsibility for the Balkan Botanic Garden of Kroussia (BBGK). She is the author of more than 90 scientific publications, book chapters, and books, and has participated in over 45 research projects (national and European), both as a team member and as a scientific coordinator. She is an active participant in various scientific initiatives promoting the sustainable use of Greek flora. She was president of the non-profit organization Association of Medicinal and Aromatic Plants of Greece (2013–2016) and coordinated the advisory group on Medicinal and Aromatic Plants for the General Secretariat for Research and Technology during the 2014–2020 programming period. She was also a member of the team for the RIS3 strategy for fruit trees.
