Her PhD work concentrated in the study of photosynthetic and metabolic responses of the model plant Arabidopsis thaliana under drought stress. She has participated in research programmes among which, “The interaction of drought and acid stress under elevated CO2 in high value crops (cereals) (Joint Research and Technology Programmes between Greece and China, General Secretariat for Research and Technology, Greece)” and “Photoprotective mechanisms in plants exposed to abiotic stresses (Joint Research and Technology Programmes between Greece and France, General Secretariat for Research and Technology, Greece)”. So far, she has published 15 articles in international peer-reviewed journals (Scopus h-index 11) and has presented her work in international and national conferences. She is a reviewer for international scientific journals and she is a member of Federation of European Societies for Plant Biologists (FESPB).
