Evangelos Korpetis is an agronomist and the scientific responsible for the cereal breeding program, seed production, breeding nurseries, experimental and seed production fields of the Institute of Plant Breeding and Genetic Resources (former Cereal Institute of Thessaloniki).

He is a graduate of School of Agriculture of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTH), with postgraduate studies in plant genetics, breeding and biotechnology with emphasis on propagation material and food quality, at the University of Thessaly. He is currently a PhD candidate in plant breeding, agronomy and weed science department of the School of Agriculture, AUTH.

He is a member of the European Cooperative Programme for plant genetic resources (ECPGR) barley working group and a member of the technical committee of propagation material of the Greek ministry of rural development and food, since 2012.

He has participated in national and european research programs, has published research papers in national and international journals and has participated in a series of national and international conferences.
