Dimitris Katsantonis (M), works as principle researcher of agronomy and plant pathology in the Institute of Plant Breeding and Genetic Resources. He received his PhD in Plant Pathology in the University of Reading, UK. During the period between 1999 -2006 he was employed under contract in various research projects in Cereal Institute of NAGREF (former ELGO). During the period 2002-2011 he was employed under contract as invited assistant professor at T.E.I.The in several practical and theoretical courses in the subject of Agronomy, Plant Pathology and Crop Plant Pathology. His area of expertise includes plant pathology of cereal crops, agronomy, seed production, remote sensing, food safety and phytochemistry, while his main research interests are focused in cereals and mainly in rice research. He has supervised 3 PhD students and 4 postdoc researchers. He participated/es in more than 30 research projects, 19 competitive and 11 funded by private companies. He has published 29 papers within the Science Citation Index and more than 50 in international and national conferences.
